What to Expect at a
Roy Dudley Estate Sale

  • Expect a Crowd. Try to get to the sale early – there are good buys throughout the sale.

  • Expect each sale to be unique. Each sale consists of fresh estates. Look at the photos on the RDES website- they show a good sampling of the personality of the sale.

  • Expect surprises and special events. Take a moment to enroll for emails – you’ll then receive notifications of sales and sometimes even sneak previews!

  • Expect to find one-of-a-kind treasures and consider your purchases carefully. When you want to purchase a large item – inspect it completely, remove the tag and ask a RDES staff member to mark it sold. Remember once you ask the item to be marked sold – RDES considers it sold.

  • Expect to see price tags on all items. All prices are firm and non-negoiable.  Items are often discounted as the sale progresses.  Check with the RDES staff members for the discount schedule.
"Don’t become so obessed with the next discount that you miss purchasing an item altogether—the most unique items go first."
  • Expect variety. Many people enjoy looking, in the formal rooms of the home but, don’t forget about the attic, kitchen, garage and patio areas for treasures also.

  • Expect to find items attractively displayed and staff members ready to assist you. Always ask someone involved in the sale if you can inspect anything packaged (linens, costume jewelry, etc) . Try to shop neatly to help other shoppers and keep the tables orderly.

  • Expect deadlines. If you purchase a piece of furniture, remember it must be removed by the end of the sale.  RDES offers an independent delivery service.

Please leave feedback on your experience with RDES: we are continuingly striving for improvement and welcome your feedback.
